Dude Needs A Card: Todd Coffey of the Dodgers

Todd Coffey is a reliever for the Dodgers. He’s appeared in at least 50 games for 6 of the last 7 seasons.  I don’t believe he’s appeared on a card since 2010 Upper Deck.

Dude needs a card.

Guys who get no love from Topps

Have you ever noticed how some players just never appear on Topps cards? I was reading on MLBTR about Todd Coffey drawing interest from a couple of teams, and it occurred to me that I couldn’t remember the last time he was on a baseball card.  From what I can tell, he hasn’t been on a Topps card since 2007 (although he was on an Upper Deck card in 2010 and 2009)

Now here’s a guy who’s appeared in no less than 69 games in each of the last three years.  I get the impression that he’s something of a fan favorite in D.C., if only for the way he sprints in from the bullpen… I kinda like the guy, and I’m not even remotely a Nationals fan.

Another guy I like is Nick Evans, who appeared in 59 games this year with the Mets.  He hasn’t been on a card since 2009.

Back in 2008, I made a Gary Majewski custom for no reason other than he didn’t have a card (or I didn’t have his card, anyway).

I don’t know if it’s because these guys don’t have a contract with Topps, or if there’s something else going on, but I’ve noticed some players will appear when they’re young players with promise, and then disappear afterwards.  Topps has been doing a pretty good job of representing rosters within their main/update set, but it seems like there are always relief pitchers and bench guys who never appear on a card.

So, whaddaya think, my non-existent followers?  Are there any Major League (or nearly so) players who you’d like to see on a Topps card?
