Huckleberry Hound, For No Apparent Reason

I don’t know how much interest there is in racing cards, but I’m sure you’ll all make an exception for this one.

1998 Wheels Promo Mark Martin

This is a promo card for the 1998 Wheels set;  the back of the card contains your standard promo card information about the set, but nothing about Mark Martin or why Huckleberry Hounds is photobombing Martin’s card.

For all I know, this could be Huckleberry Hound’s rookie card. For all you young’uns out there, Huckleberry Hound was one of the first animated characters created specifically for television.  He had his own show starting in the late 1950’s, and was on TV at least into the 1980’s… My guess would be that he had something of a revival when Cartoon Network came along.

Cartoon Network sponsored a car in the late 1990’s, and that probably factors into this photo somehow.

Dum dee dum dum… Dum dee dum dum…
