Here’s another recent acquisition…
I always think of Don Cardwell as a Met – more specifically as a 1969 Met – even though he pitched for the Phillies, Cubs and Pirates before he ever put on the blue and orange.
Cardwell pitched a 1-2-3 6th inning in game 1 of the 1969 World Series, getting Ellie Hendricks, Dave Johnson and Mark Belanger out in short order. Game 1 was won by the Orioles, you know how the rest goes.
