  1. How do you go about creating templates for your cards? I’m working on a project and that would help tremendously.

    • I’m not entirely sure how you mean, but I’m going to guess that you mean how it’s set up in my software (Paint Shop Pro 9, in my case). If that’s your question, the answer is lots and lots of layers. I’ve got one white layer that is the card border, multiple layers for the team name and striping (only one is visible at a time), one layer for the text that is the player name & position. The photo, of course, goes “behind” all of those.

I’ve been toying with a post about how I do this, I’ll see if I can’t get that done this week.

  2. Hi

I don’t know if you are still active. But I love your custom cards. I am working on a project for a few teams of the past. Was wondering if you make me a template I could use for 1976 Reds cards. Trying to make a display piece for my son who was born that year but there are a few players without Topps cards that year and wanted to include them but have no idea how to a template that I can pop pictures into.

    Thanks

    • Hi, Dick! Glad you like my customs! I unfortunately use old graphics software that is held together with the PC equivalent of duct tape and bailing wire, so my templates are in a format you wouldn’t be able to use without the same software.

Not to discourage you, but 1976 Topps is a bit more involved since there are 11 different icons for all the various positions.

That being said, that sounds like a great project… Good luck with it!
